The Friends of the U.S.S. Cassin Young DD-793 Association (FOTCY)
We support the volunteers on the ship that maintain, repair, improve and interpret this historic and gallant ship.
What We Do
The U.S.S. Cassin Young’s volunteers perform many of the same maintenance tasks as the original 300-man crew did when the ship was on active duty with the US Navy. We partner with the National Park Service in ensuring the ship represents the workers at the shipyard that built ships of the Fletcher class, and especially keeping the history and sacrifices of her crew alive for future generations..
Maintenance
The volunteers work tirelessly to preserve and maintain the ship. It is a lot of work to keep a destroyer looking ship shape!
Restoration
Keeping 80 year old equipment working is a never ending process on the Cassin Young.
Improvements
The volunteers improve the visitor experience by improving the exhibits on board, adding new exhibits and interpreting.
