We are a group of dedicated volunteers that under the guidance and direction of the National Park Service support the operation of the U.S.S. Cassin Young at the Boston Historical Park’s Charlestown Navy Shipyard.
The volunteers support the Boston Historical Park and its major exhibit, the U.S.S. Cassin Young by:
– Maintaining the appearance of the ship by painting, cleaning, repairing, and restoring the ship and its artifacts.
– Interpreting the ship for the thousands of visitors the ship receives every year.
– Partnering with the National Park Service in ensuring the ship represents the workers at the shipyard that built ships of the Fletcher class.
– And especially keeping the history and sacrifices of her crew alive for future generations.
